Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Which is the best luxury hotel or villa for family of 5 including two 4 year olds and my adult learning disabled brother close to MK? Want refrigerator and ideally a microwave for breakfast in room but restaurants for other meals. 2 rooms or 2 rm suite?

  • Hi Carole,

I am going to suggest that you look at the Disney Vacation Club resorts that are on the monorail line, which makes getting to Magic Kingdom very easy.  There are accommodations at the Disney Vacation Club resorts available for booking using traditional payment methods such as credit card.  I would suggest a villa at a Disney Vacation Club resort over two traditional hotel rooms because the villas are set up for family living, including generous living space, and full kitchens in one-bedroom or larger villas.

Your first option would be Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.  I love this resort, with its sleek and modern decor.  A great benefit here is that not only does the monorail run right through Disney's Contemporary Resort, but you can also walk to Magic Kingdom!  Another option is The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  These newly opened villas have a beautiful Victorian theme, and it is also right on the monorail line for quick and easy access to Magic Kingdom. With a party of five, you would be able to stay in a one- or two-bedroom villa.  By visiting the links I provided above and clicking on the section for "Room Rates," you can see the configurations for sleeping.

I lean a little toward suggesting Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.  The ability to walk to Magic Kingdom is great, and also if you choose to stay in a one-bedroom villa, there are two bathrooms in the one-bedroom villas at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, and only one in the one-bedroom villas at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Carole.  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have further questions!
