Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Can I order my magic bands before buying my tickets to the parks? How do they link the tickets to the band if you already have the bands in hand?
  • - Asked by Nicole from Illinois on 1/2/2014
  • Hi Nicole,

You can get the MagicBands themselves without having park tickets. It's easy to link your tickets to your MagicBand at home any time. To do this, just go to the MyDisneyExperience part of the website. Then go to "My Account" and then "MagicBands and Cards." Near the bottom of the page, click "Link a MagicBand or Card" and select the "Tickets" link. From there you can input your ticket bar code information number or pre-purchase confirmation code to link your ticket to your Band.

I've done this myself several times. It took a few tries to get the hang of it, but really only takes a few minutes once you know what to do.

One word of warning, while you can get MagicBands with a room reservation, you can't make any FastPass+ reservations until you have park tickets linked to your account. If you want to take best advantage of the FastPass+ service, then get your tickets prior to the 60-day FastPass+ reservation window.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
