Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Hi Moms! Coming 5/5/2014 - 5/11/2014. Trying to figure out weather in order to plan dinner at C Grill to watch fireworks. Last year 6/3 - 6/7 it rained almost every night & many parades/fireworks were cancelled. What is typical for beginning of May? TY

  • Hi Carolan,

Oh, I remember last spring well! It started raining right after Memorial Day and kept it up for about a month. We're accustomed to daily summer rains here in Central Florida, but last year seemed extraordinarily, persistently wet.

My family spent Memorial Day weekend at Walt Disney World in 2014, and we never took our rain ponchos out of our backpacks. Obviously, it was a different story when you arrived a few days later.

As last year proved, weather conditions can vary quite a bit from the norm. However, because you are going early in May this year, you should have less rain to deal with. Typical weather in early May is highs in the mid-80s, lows in the upper 60s, with about a 30 percent chance of rain. By early June, both daily chance of rain is more like 55 percent.

Wishing you a drier vacation this year! And enjoy California Grill. It's my favorite food and view in all of Walt Disney World.
