Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • My husband and I are planning a trip to WDW in 2015. What is the best time of year to visit with our 2 yo both for weather and how crowded it would be? Should I buy the fast pass and also what about the optional meal plans?

  • Hello Jessica,

Thanks for stopping by with your question to begin the planning of your 2015 Walt Disney World vacation. Determining the optimum time to travel is one of the most important steps in the process. My favorite time to travel there is either the late spring, after spring breaks have ended and before summer vacations begin. The weather is nice and the crowds tend to be lower from late April to late May. Temperatures average in the mid 80s with lower rainfall than during the summer (rainy season). Another great time to visit is January or February. The weather is a bit cooler with temperatures in the 70s. Keep in mind that the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend is historically in early January, so crowds pick up during that time, but only for the extended weekend.

Disney's fastpass is available to all guests and included in the cost of admission. Keep in mind that some attractions do not offer fastpasses and there are a limited number each day. However, this is a great way to minimize your wait time for some popular attractions.

Determining whether the Disney Dining Plan is the right fit for you could be based on many factors including budget, how often your family likes to eat, whether you prefer table service compared to counter service, and how often you plan to snack during your trip. Take a look at the link I have provided for more in-depth information regarding the different types of dining plans as well as what each of them includes. It can be of great value and convenience for your family, but weighing the pros and cons is important to decide whether it is worth it for your family's vacation.

    Happy planning!
