Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • We are making our 1st trip to disney for our daughters 3rd birthday in september and we will also have our 18month old son with us what are the best places to hit and which are the ones to avoid?

  • Hi Amanda!

Here is a great tool where you can look up attractions by park and by age of interest. Park Attractions

A few attractions that you might want to avoid even if your little ones meet the height requirement:
Magic Kingdom- Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, both rides are dark and have scary moments that may be too much for young ones.
Epcot- Maelstrom, which is in the Norway Pavilion of World Showcase, really scares my daughter so we avoid that one.
Disney Studios- My three year old loves Voyage of The Little Mermaid, but Ursula is a little scary and it is a little loud.  The Great Movie Ride doesn't have a height requirement, but does include scenes from movies like Alien and Indiana Jones so you might want to skip this one.
Animal Kingdom-the only attraction that might be too much for your little ones is "It's Tough to be a Bug," there are parts that are dark, loud and spiders that might make an appearance.

Please don't hesitate to ask any other questions you may have, have a magical first trip!
