Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Hello! My 4 year old daughter and I are going to Disney for the first time in May. I was wondering How much spending money would be good to bring. Also, is cash best to have while there?

  • Hi, Kristina!

Welcome to Walt Disney World!  You and your princess are in for a magical vacation.

If you have your room, tickets, and dining plan all included in your package, your spending should be minimal, but there are a few things that you will want to budget for:

    -Gratuities for table service meals
-Tips for Magical Express driver or bell services (optional)
-Souvenirs (set a limit!  Even buy a gift card ahead of time and stick to that amount!)
-Extra snacks or extra quick service meal.   Plan for $20 per day for this to be safe.

For your "extras" cash works fine, or if you prefer, put a credit card on file when you check-in then you can simply charge back to your room on your Key to the World card.  I always like to have a few dollars in cash for small purchases.   Gift Cards also work well if you want to get a few gift cards to keep in your wallet.

Wishing you and your daughter a super time in Walt Disney World!
