Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • With the new dining plan, is it worth it anymore? I am taking three 11 & 12 year old children who are NOT big eaters. Since the dining plan no longer includes appetizers or tip, I am not inclined to use it. What do you think?

  • Hi Sherry,

Actually, I think the Dining Plan is still a great deal if you know a few helpful tips to make the most of it, here goes....everyone thinks the gratuities are not included in your plan, this is mostly true, but not for every dining experience.  The gratuities are still included at Cinderella's Royal Table, Dinner Shows (for example: "Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show", The "Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue", and "Mickey's Backyard Barbecue"), and I believe the Grand Gathering Experiences as well.  Knowing this information, I still believe that you can utilize a plan for your dining, especially with these dining options which seem to be the more popular ones that are booked most often!

On another note, I must add that when you normally go out and eat, you are still "tipping" the server (based on good service) for your regular table service meals at other locations, so this does not (in my opinion) add much more than you would regularly pay when going out to eat.  Also consider the cost of the food you are eating, compared to the cost of the dining plan!  I will still use the dining plan, as I love these experiences and memories I don't seem to get anywhere else (it's worth that little bit extra, I think!).  I hope this sheds some light on the "new" dining plan for you, and whatever you choose to do, have a great time!!!!!

    Best Wishes,
