Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • I will be going to Disney World 5/14-5/19/2011. I am taking my 5 year old grandson for his first visit, just the two of us. I have reservations for 4 different Character meals. Do you think this is too many? Thanks for your input...

  • Hi Karen!

That's one very lucky five year old grandson you've got there! You both are going to have such an amazing and memorable trip!

As far as character dining, I think if done right, it's fine to have four of them, and it's a great way to get the character experiences in without waiting the lines in the parks for meet and greets. If you have them scheduled once a day as the main "sit-down" meal of the day, then this is even better, because it offers you the opportunity to sit, relax, and enjoy some of the best food available at Walt Disney World Resort.

Do keep in mind the location of your reservations, where you will be spending the day, and what transportation method you will be using. If you have reservations at one of the resorts, consider how and at what time you'll get there. Will you have a car to drive while you're visiting? Walt Disney World resort transportation is free, but it isn't necessarily the fastest.  Monorail is, in my opinion, a quick way to get to and from, but since this isn't an option for every destination, you may want to spring for a taxi to make the most of your time if you'll be between parks for some of those reservations.

I hope this helps. Feel free to come back to the Moms Panel for anymore advice, as we'd love to help you make this a magical vacation!
