Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Totally addicted to the panel, thanks for all of the wonderful info. 2 questions. The first one is can I order the "magic slipper desert" and have it sent to my resort (WL)? Second one is do any of the other restaurants offer unique deserts?

  • Mom's panelist Kim describes the Cinderella slipper dessert HERE. This magical dessert is only available at the Grand Floridian or at Cinderella's Royal Table. However, there are plenty of other unique and delicious desserts available throughout WDW.

My family's favorite dessert is the Kitchen Sink Sundae available at the Beaches and Cream Soda Shop at the Yacht & Beach Club. This is a colossal sundae composed of several flavors of ice cream, sauces, fruit, candy bars, cake, brownies, nuts, sprinkles, and an entire can of cream topping -- all served in a sink shaped bowl. Our family of five has never been able to finish this.

Another big hit with the kids is the candy sushi at the California Grill. This consists of small rectangles of Rice Krispie treats topped with Swedish Fish, or gummy worms wrapped with Krispie treat and fruit roll-ups. Such a cute presentation! At Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge the signature children's dessert is a puzzle made out of white chocolate. It is served on a palette-shaped plate with "paint" made out of icing and a small brush. Kids can paint the puzzle, assemble it, and eat their creation.

My personal favorite is the sublime grapefruit cake at the Brown Derby. Subtle and citrusy, mmmmm. I asked for the recipe and make it at home now.

There is a create-your-own dessert station at Goofy's Candy Company at Downtown Disney, where you can customize pretzels or cookies with chocolate or caramel coatings and a choice of toppings. At the Pop Century they offer tie-dyed cheesecake, at Port Orleans French Quarter there are bengiets freshly made to order, and at the Boardwalk Bakery there are bear claws the size of a bear.  And don't even get me started about the yummy international treats in all the countries of the Epcot World Showcase. I consider it my personal mission to try them all.
