Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • I am planning a first time trip for Christmas 2013. I can not decide from Port Orleans Riverside or POP Century? Help
  • - Asked by Kathy from Pennsylvania on 10/7/2013
  • Hi Kathy,

I have stayed in both of those great resorts. If your budget can handle a moderate resort, then I recommend Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter over Pop Century. The biggest differences are that both of those moderate resorts have slides in the swimming pools, a sit down (Table Service) restaurant and queen sized beds. Pop Century has double (full) sized beds. Additionally, you can ride the boat to Downtown Disney from Port Orleans which is really nice.

You are going to love Disney at Christmastime. It is absolutely beautiful! Be sure to spend some time exploring the gingerbread decorations in the resorts. This includes the gingerbread house in the Grand Floridian, the gingerbread and chocolate carousel in the Beach Club and the gingerbread tree in the Contemporary. Also, you must see the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights.

    Wishing you a wonderful vacation,
