Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • When is the best time to go to Animal Kingdom in January w/ 4 and 1 yr old - early in morning or later afternoon + eat dinner there? Thank you. Love this board.

  • Hi Suzanne,

If you are hoping to ride Kilimanjaro Safari (which I highly recommend, as, it's the flagship attraction of the park and a wonderful experience) I suggest going as early as possible.  Like your two kids, the animals on the savanna tend to take a siesta in the afternoon, and are most active and visible earlier in the day. Rather than having dinner, you might want to make a reservation for Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House.  I'm betting your little ones will love starting their day sharing eggs and waffles with their favorite Disney pals!   If you think your kids are too young to spot animals from a moving car (on Kilimanjaro), and would rather view them in one of the exploration trails or other exhibits, you could certainly come later in the afternoon, and end your visit with dinner at the park.   Rainforest Cafe is a wonderfully-themed restaurant with a diverse menu, including a huge children's section.

Have a great day at the park!
