Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • It seems I always hear people mention the same attractions that are 'must-dos'. I'm sure they're great. but we'd like to have a different experience. What are your favorite, lesser known Disney treasures that we should visit?

  • What a fun question!  There really are some great attractions that don't pull in the masses the way Expedition Everest and Toy Story Mania do.  The first one that comes to mind is located in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom.  It's called Carousel of Progress.  There's hardly ever a wait and it's a great show to duck into if your kids are hot and tired and grumpy.  Your whole family is sure to leave with a catchy little song stuck in your head for the rest of the day.  Close by, you'll find Tomorrowland Transit Authority.  This is another family favorite for when everyone needs some time off their feet.  The trip includes a surprise visit through one of the more well-known rides in Tomorrowland.

At Hollywood Studios, we love Walt Disney: One Man's Dream, in part because there's some really cool stuff in there, but admittedly, also because Walt Disney is a bit of a hero in our family.  The Great Movie Ride is also located in Hollywood Studios.  It's another attraction that we can practically walk on without any wait and enjoy a lengthy trip through some of Hollywood's most well-known films.  My kids love the Wizard of Oz scene, especially when all the munchkins show up. ;)

Lastly, no trip would be complete without a visit to The American Adventure in Epcot.  It chokes me up every single time.

In my book, all of these are true Disney treasures.
