Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • My husband and I are taking our two children (ages 3 & 7) during Thanksgiving weekend. We are already anticipating huge crowds, but what is the best way to handle this busy weekend?

  • Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Sabrina!

I have visit Disney World during a lot of peak seasons. Is it crowded? Yes. Do we have a great time despite the crowds? ABSOLUTELY! The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year to visit. The parks and resorts are all decked out for the holidays and it is just beautiful. Here are some things that I think would help you before and during your trip:

    • Use the Moms Panel with any and all questions. We'll be here for you up until the last minute.
    • Stay at a Disney World Resort if possible. This will also give you access to Extra Magic Hours that are only available to Guests staying at a WDW Resort.
    • Arrive at the theme park gates early or as soon after opening as you can.
    • Take advantage of Disney's complimentary FASTPASS or FastPass+ (if you were selected) service.
    • Select your 3 "must dos" in the parks you're visiting and do those 1st.
    • Unless you have ADRs, plan to eat lunch and dinner earlier than usual. This will help you avoid some of the crowds.
    • Bring your own water and snacks to avoid waiting in line for them.
    • Bring something to keep your kids entertained while waiting in lines and for parades, etc.
    • Get in line to use the restroom before you "really" have to go. This may sound silly but the lines are longer and when you're traveling with little ones that may not be able to hold it as long, you need to plan ahead.
    • If parades and fireworks aren't your thing, lines for attractions during the parades and fireworks may be a little shorter.
    • If you need a break from the crowds, visit the resorts. They have some great holiday decorations.
    • Remember to relax. You may not get to do everything on your trip but you'll enjoy everything you do.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
