Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • My husband has terminal cancer and deteriorating spine; w/no GAC now available -- can he sit somewhere at rides as we wait in line and join us when our turn comes up? We can wait but he is unable to stand for long periods. We never used GAC before.

  • Holly, I am so sorry your family has to go through something like this!  I hope that your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World will give you the opportunity to create many magical memories and enjoy many amazing moments together!

While there is no longer a Guest Assistance Card, there is still an accommodation in place to assist guests with disabilities.  The new Disability Access Service Card will allow you to skip standing in line at the attractions you want to do.  You just go to the attraction, and they will mark your card with a return time so that you can go do something else, sit and relax, grab a bite to eat, or just enjoy the atmosphere.  Your husband won't have to stand in line with this pass.

And Holly, please mention at Guest Services your husband's condition.  If there is anything else they can do to make your trip go as smoothly as possible, they will let you know at Guest Services.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
