Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Hi moms!! I am a veteran Disney passholder as I have been to Walt Disney World over 30 times. This holiday season promises to be an exciting one as my family and I have never been for Christmas! Any recommendations? It is my daughter's 5th bday! YEAH!

  • Hi Danielle!  Even though you have traveled to Walt Disney World many times in the past you will find that a holiday vacation is more magical then you can imagine!

The resort and park decorations are beautiful.  Take time to stroll through some of the resorts to see the special displays. The Grand Floridian will have a life size gingerbread house erected in the lobby and the Contemporary will be home to a larger then life gingerbread tree complete with ornaments, candy canes, and presents.  A final "must see" stop will be at the Beach Club resort where the chefs have built a life size chocolate edible carousel.  This is the 11th year for this decoration so look for 11 hidden Mickey's!

If you have the chance try to purchase tickets for one of the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parties.  This is a special event party in the Magic Kingdom starting at 7:00pm.  There will be a Christmas parade and fireworks and other great entertainment.  Cocoa and cookies are at several stops and it will be snowing on Main Street!

If you can't get a ticket for the Magic Kingdom party then head to Hollywood Studios to view the Osborne Lights.  This is an amazing display of millions of lights along some of the back streets of the park. Watch the Festival of the Dancing Lights where everything comes to life with music.  Snow most likely will be falling in this area of Disney as well.

My last "must see or do" experience over the holidays is the Candlelight Processional in EPCOT. This is an inspiring story of Christmas done through narration and music.  Choirs from around the country join with the Disney choir and the Voices of Liberty as well as a full orchestra to make this one of the most special holiday times for me!

Enjoy the parks and your surroundings and enjoy a Disney vacation where you can slow down and enjoy the whole experience! Happy Holidays!
