Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • If I have a room-only reservation at a Disney hotel and wait to buy my tickets until we arrive at the park the first morning, will we have problems using the EMH? That is to say, will the ticket booths be open before the EMH opening time at 8am?

  • Hello Christine!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World and "Welcome Home"!  Checking into a Walt Disney Resort hotel and being greeted this way always puts me in the mood for a magical vacation experience.

You have more than one option to purchase your Walt Disney World tickets prior to park opening on a day with Extra Magic Hours.  First, consider purchasing them when you check into your hotel. Simply go to the lobby Concierge and they can help you with this prior to going to the theme parks.

If you choose to purchase your park tickets the morning of your first visit, the theme park ticket counters begin selling park tickets one hour prior to opening.  This does include days that the park has Extra Magic Hours.  Therefore you may purchase tickets at the Ticket and Transportation Center or at any of the theme park ticket counters depending upon your park arrival route.

One piece of advice I have is if you are waiting to purchase tickets the morning of your arrival to the parks, be sure to allow additional time.  The process is smooth, but you don't want to feel rushed or lose some of your Extra Magic Hours time!

Thank you for your question and be sure to visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any further vacation planning questions you have!
