  • Hi, Jamie!

I’m so happy to hear you’re planning a vacation to the Disneyland Resort next summer. With all of the recent additions throughout both parks, including Buena Vista Street and Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park and Fantasy Faire at Disneyland Park, there is so much magic to explore!

I recommend spending at least four or five days, if not more, at the Disneyland Resort to take in all it has to offer, from attractions, to entertainment, to dining, to shopping and recreation. It’s a great idea to build downtime into your schedule so you can rest and explore the Disneyland Resort Hotels and Downtown Disney District, which are destinations in themselves, without feeling rushed.  If you’re a foodie like me, be sure to plan for some table-service meals during your visit. Some of my favorites are Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure Park, Blue Bayou at Disneyland Park.

The Disneyland Resort does not have a free transportation service like Magical Express at Walt Disney World Resort. An economical option is Disneyland Resort Express, a private bus service that offers large, comfortable tour buses. The buses run continuously from John Wayne Airport (SNA) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and reservations are accepted but not required. There is a per-person fee for this service, but children under the age of 3 ride for free. For another convenient way to get to the Disneyland Resort, you can use a shared shuttle van service, which should be arranged in advance. There are several car rental companies located at both major airports, and Alamo Rent A Car has an office at the Downtown Disney District where you can rent and return vehicles.

I hope this helps, Jamie, and that you have a wonderfully pixie-dusted visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”  Please write back with more questions as your planning continues.

    Wishing you magic,
