Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Hi Moms! My 14 year old daughter and I are staying at the Disneyland Hotel for 5 nights for our first DL vacation. We love a great view - what tower should we request? Also, could you give any Fastpass advice? Which attractions should we get them for? Thx!

  • Hello Joanne,

How exciting to be planning your first vacation to The Happiest Place on Earth. You are going to make magical memories with your daughter. We love staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

The Disneyland Hotel is a new motif in honor to the yesteryear of the original hotel. Many guest rooms feature headboards with a carving of Sleeping Beauty's Castle skyline with fiber-optic "fireworks." All the Disneyland Hotel towers have views. When booking your Disneyland Hotel room, if you select a Premium View it will be on the upper floors and you will see either Downtown Disney or the pool area. You may request a preferred tower but it is not guaranteed. I like the Adventure/ Fantasy Tower but again remember your best bet is to book an Upper Level View room. You can call the Walt Disney Travel Company at 714-778-6600 to book you magical stay.

I highly suggest utilizing Disney's FastPass Service. There are select attractions that have FastPass kiosks (these tend to be the more popular attractions). You will insert your Park Admission Ticket into the kiosk and receive a FastPass. The FastPass will have a Return Time printed on it so you can come back later and avoid the long line at that attraction. Just remember to return within the time window printed on your FastPass and then enter through the FastPass entrance and not the Standby entrance.

We love to use the FastPass service on attractions like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, Autopia, and Indiana Jones Adventure over at Disneyland Park. At Disney California Adventure Park, some of our must-dos are: Radiator Springs Racers, World of Color, Goofy's Sky School, Soarin' Over California, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

I hope this helps and that you have a pixie-dusted visit. If you have any more questions, please visit me here and let me know how I can help you plan your magical vacation.

    Wishing you magic!
