Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Moms, My husband and I are AP holders for WDW, but we're planning a trip to DL for next summer. We really don't know anything about DL and want to know some must dos and the best places to eat? Its a little overwhelming since it's so different from WDW

  • Hi, Lauren!

I’m glad you’re planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort. It’s not every day you get to walk in the footsteps of Walt Disney himself! One of the many wonderful things about the Disneyland Resort is how close the theme parks, resort hotels and Downtown Disney District are to one another.

Be sure to make time to see Fantasmic! (it’s different than Walt Disney World’s version) and the nighttime water spectacular World of Color is a must-do. You’ll also want to explore Cars Land and ride Radiator Springs Racers! If you’re a fan of Disney princesses, stop by Fantasy Faire, just adjacent to Sleeping Beauty Castle, to meet some favorite Disney royalty and see the two shows—one stars Rapunzel and the other features Belle.

A great dining choice is Café Orleans at Disneyland Park. Try a Mint Julep, the signature drink of New Orleans Square, and some Mickey-shaped beignets for dessert. Not far away is Blue Bayou. It’s located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, and the gently-lit “outdoor” atmosphere is like no other dining experience in the park!

Be sure to try Flo’s V8 Café in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park, which features classic American cuisine. The décor is inspired by the timeless drive-up diners along Route 66, so grab a seat on the patio or dining room to take in a spectacular view of the Cadillac Mountain Range as cars speed by on the Radiator Springs Racers attraction!

Carthay Circle Restaurant is my favorite fine-dining restaurant because of the glamorous 1930s-Hollywood atmosphere and top-notch cuisine.

Reservations for table-service restaurants can be made online or by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463). Please write back with more questions as your planning continues!

    Wishing you magic,
