Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Hi Lori, Wine and Dine 1/2 - 2013. I have been training using Jeff's begin prog. I am concerned about finishing with the run/walk pace. Is this pace what I will use on race day or is it expected that I run the entire race like my m.m. Not sure I can???

    No worries!  I love the run/walk/run method.  Not only do I train with it, but I also use it during races.  You will find that a high percentage of runDisney runners will be doing the same!

    You can definitely take your walk breaks during the Wine and Dine Half Marathon.  I think you will be surprised at the relaxed and fun atmosphere that the runners will provide.  There will even be a lot of runners stopping to get photos with the characters on the course.

    The only requirement is that you stay ahead of the "sweepers".  They will begin after the last person crosses the starting line and will walk at a 16 minute/mile pace.  As long as you stay in front of them, then you can run, walk, stop, skip, or jump all you want to the finish line!

    The Wine and Dine is my favorite runDisney race, and I hope you love it as much as I do!!
