My 4yr DS has sensory processing disorder. We have him on a special diet eliminating aritificial colors, flavors and preservatives. Where/what can he eat? Any QS places that are safe? Thanks.

    Hi Krista,

I have a special needs son so I completely understand your concerns. I have found traveling to Disney much easier than many other vacation destinations.

Table Service locations are great places to dine because you can speak directly to a Chef that can assist you. They can often substitute different ingredients & offer alternate food options. If you make your dining reservations online, you will be able to make a note of your request. If you make a reservation by phone (407-WDW-DINE), be sure to mention your requests to the Cast Member. When you arrive for your reservation, inform them that you have a special dietary concern when you check in.  Here is a link regarding Special Dietary Requests.

Quick Service locations may be a little tricky. They do offer prepackaged, healthier options like carrots & grapes but even those can contain preservatives. I have seen some locations that do sell fresh fruit like bananas & apples such as the open air snack location near the Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom.

Just to be safe, I always take in some food options in a small cooler for my son. Just keep in mind that restaurant locations are not allow to heat up food brought in. You can take any food that you need to warm up to a Baby Care Center. There is one located in each theme park.

Wishing you minnie magical memories!  Allison
