We have a 5 yr old who is 4ft tall (48in). Willl there be any restrictions on rides? If so what rides would be restricted? or which ones won't be restricted?

    Hi Kathleen,

At 48 inches your 5 year old is now tall enough to go on almost every ride at Walt Disney World, I found a great list at www.allears.net click on theme parks then on the left click on ride restrictions.

The only rides listed that your child is too short for are -

At Magic Kingdom the Indy Speedway has a height restriction of 54 inches to ride unaccompanied but I doubt that at 5 you would let them go alone anyway.

At Disney Quest both Buzz Lightyear's AstroBlasters and CyberSpace Mountain you must be 51 inches or taller to ride.

Although your child is tall enough for all the other rides one thing to take into account is if your child will actually like them. My 10 year old daughter has been tall enough for Rock n Roller and Tower of Terror both at Disney's Hollywood Studios for years yet still won't ride as she's too scared! Sometimes it's a good idea for an adult to ride first to decide if they think it's suitable for the child.

I hope you have a fantastic trip,

    Jo
