My 6yr old son had a blast with the Discover Disney tickets and he wants to do it again. But it is time for water parks. As a Florida resident, I wish to know if the Water Parks after 2 is worth the buy. Thanks

    Dear Gomathy:

For $62, my gut says yes.

Although I do not live in Orlando with its plethora of entertainment choices, I tend to measure my entertainment dollar by how much a movie costs me and my family. Typically, here in Mississippi, it costs me $8 - $10 for a movie ticket. Most movies last around two hours or so. So, comparatively speaking, $5 an hour for entertainment can be a good baseline for me. If your Florida Resident Annual Water Park Pass costs $62 plus tax, that's roughly 12 hours of entertainment at the baseline price of $5 an hour. Because Disney's water parks don't close until 7 p.m. during the summer and 5 p.m. in the fall and winter months, just three visits "pays" for the pass. I have a feeling that once you go, your son will enjoy going back again. And best of all: it's a lot cheaper than home pool maintenance!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Park's Moms Panel!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
