My 6 yr old is 48 inches tall and my 4 yr old is 40 inches tall with regular tennis shoes on. I'm conserned that the measurments will be a mm off and they won't be allowed on rides. Is there any reason to be concerned?

    Hi Lisa:

I have a five-year-old and a soon-to-be-three-year-old and have been traveling to Walt Disney World with them since they were infants.

Our boys were so excited to finally grow to meet rides that require a 40 inch height requirement. Because the height restrictions are based on safety reasons, Cast Members have never let my children on rides where they didn't exactly meet the height requirement (even when my kids and I gave the Cast Members our best "sad" faces). Nor have I ever seen Cast Members make exceptions for any other Guests. That being said, my kids have never been asked to remove their shoes, nor do the height rulers measure to the millimeter, so if your son is 40 inches with his tennis shoes on, he should be able to get on rides where the height requirement is 40 inches.

    Enjoy your vacation.
