I have a 19 yr old autistic child. Does Disney still give handicapped pass like they use to? In the past we went off season. We were thinking July this time. How are the weather and crowds usually?

    Hi Allison,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Yes, the Walt Disney World Resort provides a range of services for Guests With Disabilities. These services include Disability Access Service. To use Disability Access Service, you need to register your son with Guest Services when you arrive. The last time we visited Walt Disney World, we registered my husband at Guest Services in Magic Kingdom.

Once your son is registered, the Disability Access Service will limit your wait time for rides and attractions. This is how it works ... you will need to approach a Cast Member at the attraction entrance. Explain that you have Disability Access Service. They will then give you a return time window that operates like a Fast Pass+ ride time window. The guest with the Disability Access Service must be present for the service to be used. When we used the service, the Cast Member had to scan my husband's MagicBand first, and then the girls and I were allowed to ride with him.

We have also visited the Walt Disney World Resort in July. It is crowded and hot! But, we managed quite well using our regular Fast Pass+ reservations, the Disability Access Service, and Dining Reservations. I do have one other note. We were not able to use the Disability Access Service for all attractions, but it worked for the vast majority.

    I hope this helps!
