I have a 5 yr boy and I am trying to find some exciting places for him to eat. He has IBS and cannot have fried foods. Are there any character dining or quick service restaurants you would recommend? Would Biergarten be a fun restaurant for a 5 yr boy?

    Hi April!

I have three boys, so I know how important it is to find a "princess-free" environment!  I think that you will be pleasantly surprised by the healthy food options at Walt Disney World.  EVERY Quick Service and Table Service restaurant will have alternatives to fried food.  In fact, all kids meals give you the choice of carrots and grapes and as an alternative to french fries.  Shockingly, my two youngest boys make this healthy choice 99% of the time!  I wish that I could say the same for myself...

Biergarten is a LOT of fun - always a loud, good time.  Also at Epcot, the Coral Reef is a super cool place to dine.  A massive wall is open to the aquarium and because the seating is tiered, every seat is a good one!  My favorite spot for Quick Service Dining in Epcot is The Sunshine Seasons Food Fair in The Land.  TONS of great options and hot air balloons float above you. Over at Animal Kingdom, we looove The Rainforest Cafe for Table Service and Restaurantosaurus for Quick Service.  Even the name is great!  Hollywood Studios is home to Hollywood and Vine's Character Buffet - your little guy will get to meet Jake from Jake and the Never Land Pirates!!!   Without a doubt, the coolest Quick Service Restaurant in any of the parks can be found here - Toy Story Pizza Planet.  It looks just like the one in the movie!  Finally, the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom is a classic character buffet.  Nearby, Chef Mickey's is located just a monorail ride away at The Contemporary Resort.  Cosmic Ray's is my FAVORITE Quick Service dining location in all of Walt Disney World.  All of these options are on the basic Disney Dining Plan - YUM!

I hope that you have a wonderful vacation and I would love to hear from ya again!
