You're all GREAT! Staying at WL Oct.19-24 and have reserv. for Boma & Ohana. If friends make reserv. later than us, can we sit together?

I have traveled to WDW at the same time as friends on several occasions. One time in particular, my family had made a reservation at Chef Mickey's at 6:00 and our friends had a 6:15 reservation at the same restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant podium, we explained the situation to the hostess and asked if our two parties could be seated together. They were very accommodating and after an additional wait of about 15 minutes, the were able to seat our party of five plus their party of four at one big table.

However, on a different trip we had a similar situation at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. The restaurant was particularly crowded and they were not able to accommodate a larger group at one table. We ended up eating across the room from our friends, switching kids periodically.

So, the answer to your question is, whenever it is possible to accommodate a special seating request, Disney is happy to do this, but it might not always be possible depending on how busy the restaurant is. If you want ensure that you sit together, you should attempt to make a new reservation for the larger party size, and then cancel your first reservation. But if this is not available, I would just go to the restaurant and ask. If they can seat you together, they will.
