    Noemie from QC Asked

My 6 years-old daughter doesn't speak a lot of English, could she still join the Jedi Training if I can translate from French to her?

Hi, Noemie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question!

My daughter got to experience Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple for the first time a few days ago and really loved it! I consulted with my friend and fellow panelist, Thiana, whose daughter primarily spoke Portuguese when she participated in Jedi Training and she gave me a few tips!

First, your daughter will need to be with you when you sign her up. I suggest signing up first thing in the morning and if you have access to Extra Magic Hour or Magic Morning, you can sign up during that time as well. They will ask your daughter her age, if she can follow instructions, and if she's OK with appearing on stage with other children. You are free to translate these questions to her in French, but you may want to prepare her to answer in English.

When you return for your designated showtime, you will accompany your daughter until they escort all the parents to the viewing area. It would probably be a good idea for you to inform the Cast Members that your daughter is not fluent in English. For the most part, if she follows along with the other children, she should have no trouble getting her robe and waiting in line until the training starts. For the actual training, Thiana and I both suggest that you watch videos on YouTube so your daughter has an idea of the format. You will want to translate and practice the common instructions like ready stance, left shoulder, right shoulder, and cut to the head before your visit. Again, the instructors make it really easy to follow along and if she is super excited about participating, then I'm certain she will have an excellent time!

I hope this helps! Please return with any other questions you may have!
