Our 11 year-old daughter dreams of being an animator when she grows up. I remember from years ago that there were some interesting attractions related to animation. What are all of the animation-related attractions/activities available at WDW now? Thanks

    Hi Tim!

Yes, there is special experience in Hollywood Studios that anyone can try out! It is called Animation Academy which is part of the Magic of Disney Animation Attraction located in the Animation Courtyard in Hollywood Studios. In Animation Academy, you get to try your hand at drawing a Disney animated character as you are being guided by a Disney artist. You get to sit at an animation easel desk and are provided with drawing paper and a pencil that does not have an eraser. Each class is about 20 minutes long and classes are conducted every 30 minutes on the hour and half hour throughout the day. If your daughter really likes it, she can do it multiple times and draw different characters each time. The best part is that you get to keep your drawing at the end of your animation session! This is an amazing experience that few people take the time to do. I will warn you, if you do it once, you will want to do it again! There also is an Animation Academy in Disney Quest too which is very similar to the one in Hollywood Studios (Disney Quest is a Water Parks, Fun, and More Option or you can purchase a separate ticket to enter).  Who knows, maybe your daughter will become the next great Pixar or Disney Animator when she grows up!

I hope that you both have an magical, animated time in the Animation Academy on your next trip to Walt Disney World!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
