This year we are staying off property. What are the rules and best way to visit Disney resorts, without a dining reservation, to check out the hotels and quick service when you are NOT a resort guest?

    Hello, Tina,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Visiting Disney Resorts is probably one of my favorite vacation traditions. Each and every resort has such different theming; it is a treat to get to experience them.  One of the easiest ways to visit them is by using Disney transportation from one of the theme parks or Disney Springs.  After you are done visiting, you can take Disney transportation from the resort back to where you started.

Visiting a resort during the day can make for a nice break to relax and unwind. When we visit, we usually wander around a little to soak up the ambiance, do some shopping, enjoy a meal or snack at the resort's quick service restaurant, and sometimes we just enjoy sitting in the resort's lobby.  Our favorites include Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. They are all equally amazing, yet so different. If you are coming to the resort with your own car, you can let the security guard know as you arrive that you are planning on visiting the resort to eat at the quick service restaurant.

I'd love to suggest that you consider taking the Disney Skyliner, which is so much fun, from either Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios to visit the newest resort:  Disney's Riviera Resort.  This resort celebrates the European Riviera, but what I really like is the tribute to European artists as there is art sprinkled throughout the entire resort; what makes the art really special is that it has a Disney twist!  And if you see any art that you really like, most of the prints are available in the gift shop.  Primo Piatto is a great spot to grab a sandwich or snack, too.

Wishing you a magical trip!  Please let us know if we can help with any further questions. -Kara
