This year we are staying OFF property for the first time but we have our magic bands from previous years. Can we still link fast passes and credit cards to them? Or do we need to purchase new ones and is it even possible to use.maguc bands when not staying

    Welcome back, Danielle!

My family has a stash of MagicBands in what we call our Magic Bin. This is where we store our past MagicBands so that we can reuse them. We've also stayed off property before, and we each chose which MagicBand we wanted to use for that upcoming trip.

*Pixie Dust Pointer-Be sure to log into your My Disney Experience account and activate the MagicBands you wish to use while on your Disney vacation and deactivate which MagicBands you won't be using on the trip.

When you're staying off property, you can use your MagicBand to enter the parks, FastPass+ storage, and for PhotoPass. Only guest staying at a Walt Disney World resort can use a MagicBand to make purchases. What I typically do when we stay off property, is purchase Disney gift cards and use those while we are on our Disney vacation. This helps me to stay on budget and not use my credit or debit card too often.

There are some cool new styles of MagicBands called MagicBand 2. You can purchase those from the Disney Store online or the Shop Disney mobile app, if you're interested in something new!

    Happy planning!
