My 9 year old is a Type 1 Diabetic and we will be visiting the parks in June. What does Disney offer for those with disabilities with concern to wait times for rides?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, TJ! Thank you for bringing us your question!

I imagine you must be a bit worried about your child waiting in line for attractions, especially during a busy time. Do not worry, Disney has your back and he will be perfect!

Disney has a firm commitment to provide an inclusive and comfortable environment to all guests. This can be seen in many ways throughout the parks, and the Disability Access Service (DAS) Card is one example of that. The Disability Access Service (DAS) Card is a tool designed to accommodate guests who aren’t able to wait in a conventional queue environment due to a disability or medical condition. It offers guests a return time for attractions based on the current wait time. As soon as your child and his party finish one attraction, you will all be eligible to receive a return time for another. The best thing is that this service can be used in addition to the FastPass+ service.

TJ, you and your child will need to collect this pass at one of the main four theme park Guest Relations offices, Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. I suggest you collect it as soon as you get to the first theme park you visit. Once you are inside the Guest Relations office, request to speak to a Cast Member. They will speak to you to determine eligibility and make sure they provide you with a service that fully meets your child's needs.

If you need special assistance before getting to the Park and collect the card, reach out to the closest Cast Member and explain the situation to them.

I am sure your child will have a great time at the Walt Disney World Resort. I wish you all a wonderful vacation!

    See ya real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
