Our 12 year old is a type 1 diabetic, and long waits in the heat affect her b.s. #'s, there is a total of 8 of us in the party traveling - would the guest disability card allow us to stay with her in a line? (At 12 - I don't want her too far off from us?)

    Hi Amber!

The Guest Assistance Card can be such a lifesaver for guests whose special needs are not immediately apparent to the casual observer.  Unlike someone in a wheelchair, some guests have conditions, like your daughter, that Cast Members might not see.  Not all Guest Assistance Cards are the same and the folks at Disney will help you to pick up the card that is just the perfect fit for your family.  They can't guarantee that she won't wait in any lines, but if she is allowed to use special lines, up to five other guests can accompany her.   My oldest son will be twelve this month and while he thinks he is old enough to hit the parks on his own....this Mamma thinks otherwise!  I'm guessing you feel the same, so perhaps you can divide your party into two groups and take turns going with her???

Another bit of good news- you won't need to pick up a new card at each park!  Simply hang onto the card for the duration of your stay.  You MIGHT need to pick up a new card if you visit one of the water parks however.  Have a fabulous vacation!
