my 17 year old thinks he is too old for disney. ..i am a single parent to a 17 year old boy and a 3 year old girl......how can i make a trip like this work....it is only the 3 of of us...my girl and i love disney...but we can not travel without my son...

One thing you might be able to do, is have him bring a friend.  Part of his resistance, may be that he will be relegated to walking around the park with a three year old sister, that wants to ride Dumbo, or Cinderella's Golden Carousel and there won't be any fun for him.  If he has someone to 'hang' with do the big rides with, it can work.  My oldest went to Disney World two years ago with her best friend who had a similar situation, the parent just asked that I pay for the tickets and give her money for meals.  She had a blast.

Your son probably has a cell phone, and he and his friend could go and do some adventuresome rides in Tomorrowland as you spend time reading with Belle and your daughter.
