My 4 year old still takes a nap but she is too big for a stroller. We are staying with family nearby so going back there for naps is not an option. Do you have any suggestions for cool, shaded, quiet locations where she might be able to recharge?

Hi Kevin! Recharging is always necessary with the little ones. It makes it a bit harder when you are not staying in a Disney resort that can be easily accessible from all parks.

Each park will have a Baby Care Center where you can find a quiet room or two. They don't offer naps but
it will be a place that offers cool temps and away from crowds.

the Animal Kingdom park has many hide away spots and my favorite is behind the Flametree Barbecue spot. There are many shaded areas you might be able to use for resting. The other parks tend to be a bit busier and harder to find that quiet spot. In the Magic Kingdom the pathway that leads from Fantasyland to Space Mountain is quiet but doesn't offer anywhere to sit. In Epcot you can find less traveled walkways by the Energy ride. I find this park the hardest to find shaded areas so make sure you have an umbrella available to keep the sun away.

It is always a good idea to ask a cast member what they can suggest in each park. Stop in at their Guest Service location and allow them to assist you of your options. The parks are busy places and not set up for nap areas so nothing will be a perfect solution.
