I have a 3 & 5 year old. Would spending the evening at the Boardwalk, or Downtown Disney provide enough entertainment for the night, or should we plan something extra after dinner? Not sure if there is entertainment there.

    Hi Jennifer,

Our family loves spending time at both of those locations, and we have been taking our boys there since they were infants. I think you will find plenty of things for two children to do with no problem at all.

Downtown Disney offers a number of fun merchandise shops and restaurants. There is a great toy store, Once Upon a Toy, where the kids can make their own Potato Heads, lightsabers, and Pretty Pony for a minimal cost. The Lego store has great displays to enjoy and attached a fun interactive play zone for kids to build with legos. T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe restaurants both have great displays for the kids to check out and T-Rex has a Build a Dino workshop. You will also find squirting water fountains, a train and a carousel for the kids. There is a delicious ice cream shop and Goofy's Candy Company, where you can make your own slushy cups and sweet treats. If you walk further down the strip, you will also find the new Characters in Flight balloon experience, the interactive gaming facility, Disney Quest, a mega move theatre and more. There is a ton of activity and lights and music and plenty to keep to active kids intrigued.

Whew, not if that wasn't enough-venture over to the Boardwalk featuring a merchandise shop, ESPN restaraunt/arcade, surrey bikes for rental, sweet shop & bakery, two nightclubs (ok maybe that isn't for the kids-but it is there for you to enjoy), carnival games and my boys' favorite-the free nightly entertainment from around 6pm to 10pm with jugglers, magicians and comedians. They are great and always looking for a volunteer or two. The Boardwalk also neighbors additional resorts, like the Beach Club, with free nightly family movies on the beach and near the Swan resort you can play a few rounds of miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens.

Hard to choose right? We like to spend an evening or two at both locations. Enjoy!
