I have 5 year old son on the Autism Spectrum. He loves transportation vehicles, Peppa Pig, Daniel Tiger. I want to make the best of this trip for him. Please suggest. He is completely on gluten free casein free diet. Can we bring our own food

    Hi Geenu,

Thanks for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I, too, have a son with autism who likes some of the same things, and I'm happy to tell you that he LOVES our Walt Disney World Resort vacations. I would be happy to share with you some tips to help your trip go really smoothly and leave you all with wonderful memories to last a lifetime!

First, I'd encourage you to look into all of the fabulous resources available to Guests traveling with cognitive disabilities. If your son struggles with sensory issues and you're concerned about his ability to wait in a traditional queue, you'll definitely want to visit Guest Relations inside a theme park and ask them about the Disability Access Service. It has saved many a meltdown in our family, and I'm so grateful for it! Secondly, yes, you are absolutely able to bring your own food with you into the theme parks! If that will help your son feel most comfortable, feel free to do so, but I also wanted to let you know that Disney is amazing about accommodating special diets, so don't feel like you can't enjoy some special meals during your trip! Finally, in hearing your son's interests, I'd suggest riding the iconic monorail at some point (which is one of my son's favorite things ever!), experiencing the Main Street Trolley Show, and cruising along the Tomorrowland Speedway. My son has also become a big Figment fan, so perhaps your son would love him, too!

I'm so glad you stopped by with your great question, Geenu, and please come back and see us again if we can help with anything else. I hope that you and your Mouseketeer have a truly magical vacation together!
