My 3 year old son has autism. Last time we visited WDW he had a tough time waiting in line and since then I discovered we could have used a GAC. We are going 10/25 and today I read that the GAC cards will be eliminated on 10/5. What do you recommend we do?

    Hi Sarah,

You must be getting excited for your upcoming vacation!

You heard right, the GAC (Guest Assistance Card) that you know will no longer be available as of October 9th. However, rest assured Disney wants every guest to have the best possible experience. A new service will replace the existing GAC.

The Disability Access Service Card (DASC) will offer guests a return time for an attraction based on the current wait time. It sounds like it will be similar to a FastPass type experience. Given the increasing volume of requests Disney receives for special access to attractions, the new service should create a more consistent experience for all guests while maintaining special accommodations for guests who cannot wait in a conventional queue.

The program was developed with the help of several disability groups as well as Autism Speaks. I think you'll find the DASC will provide you and your family with an enjoyable experience.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!
