My 4 year old is SO SCARED of all Disney movies, will he be bombarded with villain characters, scary live performances, and non-stop Disney movies in every corner of the ship? Should we choose another cruise line?

    Hi, Kirsten!

One of the best aspects of a Disney vacation is that you are in control of your vacation choices. There are Disney movies which play in the Buena Vista Theater, on the large-screen by the main pool and on the stateroom TVs. There are Broadway-caliber live shows which are performed in the Walt Disney Theater, and there are scheduled character greetings in common areas throughout the ship at various times during the cruise. Yet, with your daily Personal Navigator, you decide what you and yours participate in (or don't participate in) based on your likes and preferences.

As far as your child being scared, I would encourage you to continue to offer entertainment choices which don't have a "scary factor" when you're at home -- such as Mary Poppins, Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, and the Winnie the Pooh movies.  There are others where the villains are more silly than scary such as Peter Pan, Jungle Book and 101 Dalmatians. You can also try reading the books before you see the movies in order to acclimate your child to the story line assuring him that everything works out in the end.

If you could confirm with me on which ship you'll sail, I can give you an idea of the live performances and what to expect there. I'd be happy to be a resource for you. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
