Hi. I have a 4 year old mildly autistic boy and we're taking a Disney cruise to the Bahamas in August. Would like to know about Scuttles Cove and if it's enclosed and fully supervised so we can leave him alone with the DIsney employees.

    Hi Mary,

Congratulations on your upcoming Disney cruise!  You are going to have so much fun!  I love Castaway Cay.  It's my absolute favorite port...I never get tired of it.

Scuttle's Cove is enclosed and fully supervised by the youth counselors.  Your son will not have any access to the beach so you don't have to worry about that.  He's going to have a wonderful time there, and you can rest assured that he will be very well taken care of.  If there are any immediate concerns that you have, please visit the youth club when you arrive and speak with the counselors.  They are an amazing, well trained, and very experienced group of individuals.  I'm a paranoid mom, and I have left my kids in the youth clubs on 6 separate cruises with no issues except intense happiness and bouncing around!

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel.  Bon voyage Mary!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
