Hi Debra ~
As the Mom of a special needs child, I love that you're planning ahead. When you arrive at the first theme park during your visit, go to Guest Relations and speak with a Cast Member regarding your granddaughter's specific needs. You will not need to bring any documentation. After speaking with a Cast Member, they may issue your granddaughter
Disability Access Service (DAS). DAS is designed to assist Guests who are unable to wait in a standard queue for medical reasons including those that are not apparent.
If DAS will be the best option for your granddaughter, the Cast Member will take her photo for DAS and have an adult sign for DAS. DAS will be linked to your granddaughter's MagicBand. They will need to link everyone's MagicBand in your party as well so that you can all enter an attraction with your granddaughter.
Once you obtain DAS, you can go to an attraction and see a Cast Member at the entrance to get a return time to come back and enter the Disney FastPass+ service queue. Your granddaughter's return time will show up in your My Disney Experience so be sure to download the
My Disney Experience mobile app prior to your trip. You can only obtain a DAS return time for one attraction at a time but you can get another DAS return time as soon as your granddaughter has enjoyed the attraction. DAS can be used in addition to your granddaughter's
Disney FastPass+ service selections.
If your granddaughter has any comfort items including electronics, bring them if possible. There are quiet places in the parks to give her a break if needed.
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
