We are going with a 6 year old girl and a 16 month boy and was wondering if adding the quick service meal option would be best for our family as the children dont stay calm in sit down restaurants for very long. Or should I just purchase meals and pay.

    Hi Amanda,

I have found that the Disney Dining Plan is the least expensive way to feed children at Walt Disney World.  It's a great deal for kids under 10!  I think you'll find you will actually spend more money on food if you pay a la carte.  At least, that has been my experience.

Since you know your children better than anyone, I would follow your instincts and choose the Quick Service Plan if you know your children will not enjoy daily table service meals.  There are plenty of great places (more than 50!) on Disney property where you can find delightful quick service meals.  You can always book the Disney Dining Plan that includes table service meals on a future trip when your children are older.

Even though character dining is not included on the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan, I would book at least one character dining experience during your vacation.  For instance, the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom or Chef Mickey's in Disney's Contemporary Resort are wonderful options for kids the age of your children.  The buffets at these locations will give you plenty of food options and you'll enjoy a fabulous opportunity to photograph your kids as they interact with the Disney characters.  Be sure to do this at least once.  You can call (407) WDW-DINE to book reservations at these restaurants.

Wishing you a vacation sprinkled with extra pixie dust!
