I have a 5 year old going to Disney for three days --- do you suggest a stroller or will he be able to walk that long?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Julie! I have two young kids that attack the Disney Parks with extreme glee and fast-moving legs. That being said, even my grade schooler still wants a rest, preferably with a Mickey Ice Cream Bar.

My eldest child finally gave up a mid-day stroller whirl around 6, but will still happily cram himself into the space when his little sister wants a chance to run around. If your 5-year-old isn’t extremely active at home, a rental will be a great place to stash him between dashes across the Parks, or even around Disney Springs. If you’re still not sure about renting as your vacation nears, there are plentiful strollers inside the Parks to rent at a moment’s notice. You can rent for 1 day, or for length of stay to get a better deal. Lastly, I always recommend the Disney authorized Kingdom Strollers, which offer City Minis complete with portable coolers and rain covers. You never know when those afternoon showers will pop up; we always get sprinkled on when we’re inside an attraction like the Enchanted Tiki Room!  Your child seems to be on the cusp of when my eldest gave up the ghost on being wheeled around; if you’re planning on mid-day naps at the Hotel, you should be fine to rent a stroller only if you need it.

As you’re strolling around, be sure to stop at the Baby Care Centers with rest areas, a shop with essentials as well as a snack area. It’s a place our family utilizes each time we vacation at Walt Disney World Resort. I hope your vacation is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! ~ Lindsey P.
