My 9 year old daughter is a young artist, who loves drawing and painting. Are there any ink/paint activities that would make her visit to Disney World even more special? We will be visiting March 23-30th 2019. Thank you!

    Hi Jaclyn!

I love that your daughter is a budding artist and that you want to make her visit even more magical with special art-related activities. I did some resEARch, and came up with a palette of options for her!

First up - Disney’s Art of Animation Resort where Imagineers will teach her the Art of Disney Animation, and she will leave with her masterpiece! My fellow panelist Jason explains all the details here. If the whole family wants to test their skills, head to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter where Paint by the Lagoon helps you create your own Disney-themed art!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge offers a variety of artistic options. Your daughter can decorate cookies at either Sanaa or Boma-Flavors of Africa and then take the Kidani Village Art Tour where she will learn about the most extensive collection of African art outside of Africa!

For interactive experiences to get her creative juices flowing, head to Disney Springs. The Art Corner is a new pop-up shop that allows her to create her own fabric via an ancient marbling technique! She will work alongside an artisan to create custom-made silk items. While you’re there, the two of you can have a caricature done - in a digital sketch or classic watercolor style. When you’re done, immerse yourself in The Void: Step Beyond Reality where she can experience the virtual-reality side of art!

Jaclyn, I hope this helps you sketch out some options for her!
