My 6 year old daughter & I are planning a 6 night WDW trip the 1st week of December. We want to do a split stay at the AKL or the WL. How does this affect DDP and getting difficult ADR's? Can you still do 180+10 ADR's?

    Hey, Lloyd!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Splits stay at Walt Disney World Resort hotels are double the fun, double the pleasure and double the Disney Dining Plan. In addition, December is a most wonderful time of the year to enjoy the holiday cheer...Mickey Mouse style. If you get a chance, try and attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, where it snows in Magic Kingdom Park on Main Street, U.S.A. I am so excited for you and your daughter to have a wonderful vacation.

You will need to purchase a dining plan for each Disney Resort hotel reservation. Disney Dining Plan A will expire at midnight of Resort A check-out day while Disney Dining Plan B will start the morning on the same day provided that check-in day of Resort B is the check-out day of Resort A. If you have remaining meal entitlements from you first dining plan, before you check out of Resort A, be sure to discuss combining them with Dining Plan B. You will only be able to use Dining Plan A until midnight of the check-out day. The split stay should have little effect on getting those highly desirable reservations. If there is a restaurant that you really want then try to book it toward the end of your trip to give you the best chance.

According to Disney, you may book 180 days + the total length of your reservation separately for each reservation, not 180+10.

Disney Dad Tip: A magical service to split stayers is that Walt Disney World Cast Members are happy to transfer your luggage to your second resort. You will take your items to the bag services at Resort A and they will be glad to transfer them to Resort B. The transfer time could be 30 minutes to several hours. Drop your luggage off then head to the theme parks and...just like magic, they will arrive at your second resort.

I hope you and your daughter enjoy eating and making many Magical Memories together!
