Kim:
I don't recommend heading to Disney without a few dining reservations,
especially if you're on the Dining Plan. Too many times I've heard of guests not finding a restaurant with standby availability so in their frustration have used a table dining credit on a counter-service meal. This doesn't make good financial sense, and you doesn't get the value out of the dining plan.
All restaurants in the theme parks take the dining plan as well as most outside the parks. The
planning guides have a list of all restaurants which take the plan. Additionally, the
online reservation site allows you to filter by restaurants that accept the plan you've purchased. Making a reservation is a simple process of entering your date and meal or specific time and then selecting a choice. Most table-service restaurants now require a credit card to make a reservation but you can cancel most 24 to 48 hours out without penalty.
If you have already made your FastPass+ reservations, then choose restaurants that are in those theme parks or resorts that are nearby. If you need suggestions, feel free to come back and get some recommendations from us.
Wishing y'all a magical vacation!
