Tweens planning

Is there a way my 11 year old can connect to our plans on the My Disney Experience app? Right now she can’t create an account because she’s not 13, but she really wants to have access to the app.

    Hi Petra,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I have a Disney-loving tween too, and she is VERY involved in all the aspects of our vacation planning - we have lots of fun planning our Disney days together!

My Mouseketeer is also eager for the day she has her own access to My Disney Experience. She loves looking at Wait Times on the map feature! Unfortunately, you’re correct: Guests must be 13 years or older to have their own My Disney Experience account. For now, I allow my daughter to use the app on my phone with my supervision – I don't want her to accidentally modify something!

While your tween waits for My Disney Experience access, I have a few ideas for fun ways she can get her Disney fix and feel connected to the parks and planning:

-My kids love the Disney Now app, which contains lots of Disney Channel content but has a whole section of Disney Parks videos, including footage of parades, fireworks, and Nighttime Spectaculars

-We watch YouTube content from Disney Parks and Disney Parks Moms Panel

-We borrow Walt Disney World guide books and other Disney-related books from our local library

-The Play Disney Parks app has tons of fun features to enjoy when you're in the theme parks (it's amazing for passing the time in longer queues), but it also contains trivia and music playlists to enjoy at home

Petra, I hope these suggestions hope your daughter make some of her own magic while she waits to see the floating lanterns gleam on her 13th birthday!

    Have a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day,
    Robyn
