My 8 year old has a congenital heart defect that limits her endurance, and walking. She is too big for a stroller, too young for an ECV and doesn't want to be in a wheelchair.. What other options are there to enable her to spend a full day at the parks.

Hi Caryl.  I understand your position and hope that I can offer some help to you.  I also have a child with a cardiac condition so I think I can give you some helpful advice.

First off, take things slow and at your daughter's pace.  Remember to keep her properly hydrated, and provide lots of opportunities for shade and rest.  Get a cool drink and watch all the action go by as you sit on a bench in the Parks.  Also, I would still encourage you to start early, take a mid-day break and come back later in the afternoon or early evening.

Definitely stop by Guest Relations at any of the theme parks in Walt Disney World.  Guest Relations is located near the entrance of any of the four major theme parks.  You will also find Guest Relations at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, Disney's Blizzard Beach, at Downtown Disney and at Disney's Boardwalk Area.  At Guest Relations, let the Cast Member know specifically what your daughter's needs are.  Once you explain those, they will do their best to accommodate her needs.  With that accommodation, you should be able to take things even that much slower.

Feel free to come back if I can help in any other way.

Until then, I wish you a MAGICAL vacation!
