Teens on attractions

Can my 16 year old brother take my children (9 and 12) to the park alone?

    Hi Yvonne,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I checked the Park Rules to verify my response to your question. Specifically, the rules state that "Guests under age 14 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older to enter the park." Having said that, there are a few other things to consider if you have not done so already.

    • If your brother and/or children have never been to Walt Disney World, I would hesitate to send them on their first visit to the parks alone (that may be the teacher in me!)
    • Things happen - what will be their exit strategy or plan if one of them gets injured? There are First Aid stations in each park.
    • Although park closures are rare, they have happened. What will they do if they reach the park and are unable to enter?
    • Be sure to use the Attractions List to check the height requirements for each attraction they plan to experience.
    • I assume they will have cell phones. Be sure they are familiar with Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering.
    • Be sure they have rain ponchos and a rain plan if the rain is persistent and heavy.
    • Send them with sunscreen so that they can reapply during the day.

Yvonne, if you have not done so already, set up a My Disney Experience Account so that they can make Fast Pass+ selections for attractions. If they download the My Disney Experience Mobile App, they can add a fourth, "rolling" Fast Pass+ after they have used their first three!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
