    Pearl from NC Asked

Does a 3 year child need a ticket? I've been told by others they don't. Just want to be sure.

Hi Pearl and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! That’s a great question and thanks for stopping by with it!

My youngest daughter just turned three this summer and we’ve been celebrating lots of milestones. One of those is her new “big girl” status when she visits “Mickey’s House.” Parents of little one’s ages 3-9 must purchase a theme park ticket for their Mouseketeers. Children under the age of 3 are considered Mickey’s special guests and do not require a theme park ticket for entry into any of the theme or water parks.

While you will need to purchase theme park tickets for your child now, I’ve found that there are many ways my three-year-old doesn’t exactly fill that big kid role just yet. Many times, my two kids will share kid’s meals while we are visiting restaurants at the happiest place on earth. On other occasions, I still share my meals with her and haven’t encountered any issues with letting our servers know that.

Pearl, there's a whole new world to explore at the Walt Disney World Resort with your Mouseketeer! They are able experience more attractions and can be a lot less apprehensive about it. Before your next visit, take a look at the Preschool Parents Guide to the Walt Disney World Resort. You’ll find lots of tips and information on how to get the most out of your trip with your preschooler.

I hope this information is helpful to you as you continue planning your trip. Please feel free to come back to see us soon! Helping you plan your magical stay is our favorite thing to do!
